This is Anfield..were You will Never Walk Alone

Welcome to my second blog site after "Other Thots" @ http://prem-ananth.blogspot.com/ .This Blog is all about my passion , Which I discovered as an 8 year old "Innocent" boy ..Football!!

I still remember how it all started. Those days in the late 70’s and 80’s when Steve Jobs and Bill Gates were discovering the gadgets and software that was about to change the world, we had the good fortune of enjoying pure life …living to the fullest. Having friends from all walks of life, added color and luster to the activities that followed. “Police and Thieves”, “Rounders”, “badminton” , “building huts in the middle of nowhere” ,”Fishing with bare hands in the ponds/river”, “Tic Tac Toe”, “Masak-masak” and of course the acting or rather impersonating the great serials then i.e “Incredible Hulk”, “Six Million Dollar Man”, “Man from Atlantis” , “Space 1999”, “Lost in Space” ,”Thunder Cats”, “Transformers”, “Ultraman” etc. Of all this,
The one that I enjoyed the most and made me delirious was none other than Football!! Love it enjoyed it and couldn’t get enough of it….

During my schooling days, I was given the nick “Platini”..Yes!! The great Michel Platini, Capt. of France back in the 80's & considered one of their finest player.Currently he is the UEFA president. Guess it was due to my dribbling ability and a knack for poaching goals..similar to Platini.Nevertheless my football was shaped from watching a man born in Glasgow on the 4th of March 1951 playing for the Greatest Club in world Football….Liverpool FC!!

Malaysia use to show the EPL (Division one, then) way back then and as a young boy of 8, I use to follow the english game to learn and improve myself. It was during this time that I watched the fantastic Liverpool with their pass and move philosophy that none could match. The mighty reds won everything under the sun……in fact it took Manchester United more than four decades to overhaul our championship tally in 2011.It’s a feat even they will not be able to emulate.

The Man in Red who influence me so much growing up was Kenny Dalglish. He was brought in to replace the departure of another great liverpool player Kevin Keegan by Bob Paisely in 1977 for then British transfer record of Pound 440,000.He made his debut, wearing Keegan's famous number seven shirt, in the season opener at Wembley, on 13 August 1977 in the Charity Shield against Manchester United, which ended in a draw. He scored his first goal in his league debut a week later on 20 August, against Middlesbrough. Dalglish also scored on his Anfield debut three days later in a 2–0 victory over Newcastle United, and he scored Liverpool's sixth goal when they beat Keegan's Hamburg 6–0 in the second leg of the 1977 UEFA Super Cup final. At the end of his first season, Dalglish had played 62 times, scoring 31 goals, including the winning goal in the 1978 European Cup Final final at Wembley against Bruges.

In 1978 during one of these games, he completely mesmerized me with his skills and movements when he dribbled pass a few players from the left wing and cut in near the edge of the box and unleashed the most beautiful in-swing towards the right hand post sailing pass everyone..Unstoppable…a wonder Goal!! …pure magic!!..that was the day I started my love affair with this football club …which never walks alone .Boasting the best fans in the world. No fans anywhere in the world can usurp this from the KOP!!

This blog is purely for Liverpool fans and the neutral …its my way of paying homage to Kenneth Mathieson "Kenny" Dalglish better known as King Kenny and his second coming to LIVERPOOL FC

Brace yourself …YNWA!!!
